Where do you shoot and will you travel?
I am located in Gwinnett County and will meet you in Loganville, Snellville, Stone Mountain, Lilburn, Grayson or Lawrenceville at no charge. If you are located outside of this area and wish to schedule a shoot but are unable to meet me inside my approved area, I am willing to travel but may charge a travel fee. If you are out of state and planning a vacation in the Gwinnett County or Atlanta area and would like to schedule a shoot, please contact me to see availablity.
I choose locations based on our email discussions. In general, I like to utilize public parks, rural locations such as woods or fields and urban spots with lots of texture and color. If you have a certain location in mind for your shoot, I’d love to discuss it with you.
What can I expect from our shoot?
I like to think of myself as capturing the ‘real you’. Since each family and child and couple is different, each shoot will be different. I may suggest some poses, location spots, or scenes but generally speaking, I do not direct each move or try to manipulate subjects like a puppet show. Instead, I give you the opportunity to be yourselves and I try to capture the best parts, the happiest moments, and the sweetest details. With children I allow them to explore, play and be themselves. There may be times when I ask parents to entertain their children in order to get the natural smiles or joyous expressions but never tell a child to “Sit and say cheese”.
What editing will you perform on the photos?
I do very minor editing work on all photos. If you require extensive editing (ex: tatoo removal, scar touchups, etc.) please let me know in advance of the shoot. There may be a small fee associated with more extensive editing. Each client receives a cd of edited images in both color and black & white.
I have a certain style or idea in mind for the shoot…can we incorporate it?
Absolutely. I want every photo to be something that you will love to look at and be proud to have a part in creating. If you have a certain idea in mind, I highly encourage you to express that to me before the shoot. I also love props and using them in photos. If you have a special prop you would like to incorporate, let me know and we can make sure it is used.
What if it rains during our shoot? Will we reschedule or will it be cancelled?
Unless it is pouring rain, we typically do not reschedule. There are some tricks to work around and with overcast and even drizzling rainy days. Prior to the shoot, we will assess if we can use the tricks or if it is simply better for your photos to reschedule. If your shoot is scheduled for a day that appears to be unworkable conditions, you can expect a call from me to make an appointment for a rescheduled shoot.
How do I pay?
If you have scheduled a shoot with me and I have confirmed the date with you via email, please confirm your payment method as soon as possible. We welcome cash, checks, or credit cards payments through Paypal. If you are planning to pay through Paypal, I will send you the Paypal link for you to make your payment. Full payment is required prior to the beginning of the photo shoot.
The introductory rates are subject to change if I haven’t paid in full. How do I lock in the current rate?
Since rates are subject to change at any time, we highly encourage locking in the current rate by paying in full as soon as possible. If you would like to pay for your scheduled shoot via check or cash, we can send you a Paypal deposit link in order for you to lock in a rate using your credit card which is fully refundable after your check or cash has been received.
What camera do you use?
I have a Canon 5D Mark II.
What editing software do you use?
I use Photoshop CS4.
